19th century portrait of Edward Southworth of the Southworth Paper Company, Agawam, Massachusetts, 1839, oil on canvas, 48" x 37", in original frame 66" x 56". Edward took over the family business in 1850-1860. Possibly painted by the English artist Bagshaw. Includes the Southworth story. Provenance: Holyoke, Massachusetts collection.
